Emergency Medical Services

  New Berlin EMS
Do you think you can handle it???
Well thats what we want to know.
Check out http://www.rollwithit.com/  for a little bit of a veiw of what we do.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is the "Ambulance arm" of the New Berlin Fire Company No. 1, Inc., operating out of the Firehouse at 415 High Street, New Berlin, PA  17855.  We can always use more help in providing this essential service.  If you think you might have what it takes to serve as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), contact us for more information.  Challenging?  Yes!  But if you want to give to the community, if you want to help people, if you want to feel like you do something important - this certainly fits all of those needs.

We provide service on a 2000 Ford E-450 Super Duty / BRAUN Super Chief XL type III Ambulance, licensed through the Pennsylvania Department of Health for Basic Life Support (BLS).  This service is dispatched by the Union County 911 Center at 103 South Second Street, Lewisburg, PA  17837.

We are currently looking to purchase a new Ambulance within the next couple of years. We will greatly miss our current Ambulance, it served us and the community well, but it is time to move on to big and better things, so we can serve the community more proficiently.

On calls requiring Advanced Life Support (ALS....intravenous fluids, cardiac monitoring, etc.), a Paramedic unit is also dispatched with the Ambulance.  The primary ALS provider for the New Berlin area is Medic 55, owned and staffed by the Evangelical Community Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg PA  17837.  Secondary is Medic 60, responding from Evangelical Community Hospital.

We sell memberships for Ambulance service at $15.00 per year for single person coverage, $20.00 for family coverage (includes children through age 17); and $25.00 for family and any guests visiting.  Contact Phil W. Resseguie  to obtain membership. Insurance of all persons transported by our Ambulance are billed for services rendered.  Many insurances, including Medicare, do not pay all of the bill.  Without membership, that patient or their guardian are responsible for the balance; members are forgiven any balance.
The membership only covers the BLS portion of any bill.  We recommend you contact Evangelical Community Hospital Paramedic Services to obtain membership for ALS services, rendered by their paramedics.  Call Medic 60 at 570-522-2660 or Medic 55 at 570-522-2805 to inquire about obtaining this inexpensive membership.  If your call is unanswered, they may be on a call; please try again later.
